There's some good information in here (from a brief overview sort of way) but the run-on sentences and repetitious information are frustrating. I should have read Amazon's 'Look Inside' sample pages....check it out for yourself. Regarding the repetition: Even in the last project, page 71 (of a book only 79 pages long which is about the Raspberry Pi 3) reminds the reader, "First and foremost, the Raspberry Pi 3 micro computer itself is needed to provide the core of the game console..." Then on page 72, there's a repeat sentence (that takes up four lines) to tell the reader about the dangers of static electricity, the need for a static mat, and a reminder to ground yourself before handling the Pi. The book would probably only be 40 pages if information like that wasn't repeated in every.....single....project. I'll probably hit this thing with a highlighter for my niece or just get the Kindle version and extract what I need. Nine bucks for the paperback is pushing it as far as value goes. Save a tree, get the Kindle version.
I seriously doubt the authenticity of those high remarks about this book. There is no screenshot, photo, illustration, or diagram, and almost no code at all; just paragraph after paragraph of words. I am new to Raspberry Pi, but not at all new to electronics and programming; there are useful information here and there, but by no means this is a good book to learn Raspberry Pi. I probably wouldn't complain if I was charged $3 for this book.

I love the layout of this book. The short sections are easy to review and just the right length to keep a feeling of momentum. I also really appreciate the inclusion of phrases and grammar structures in the vocab lists. Great for someone with only a very basic knowledge of French.
This book is very deceptive and it is demoralizing. The title of the book is, "30 French Stories for Complete Beginners." Well, I looked up several words that I didn't know and the frequency of those words were usually well beyond the top 3,000 used words. I'm attaching a picture of a zoomed in portion of one page. There is a lot cut off as to not infringe upon the author's copyrights. So, let's be clear, I would think that a book written for complete beginners would focus on vocabulary words that fell below the 2,000 most frequently used words in French. I gave it a 2 because the audio that accompanies it is a nice touch and easily downloadable. However, other than that, it's pretty disappointing. I'd say this is written more for B2 students. Stay away if you're A1 or A2. Give it a shot if you're B1....
I liked the vocabulary that helps you before each story that helps you follow along. It’s also helps you see how the language is formatted differently from English.

Jen Daley’s “Stitching for the Seasons†is my go to book when planning and executing my new quilt projects. If you or someone you know loves fabric as art, this is a perfect addition to the library. It is a delightful book to just relax, curl up with, and dream about your next project. From my perspective; first, and most importantly, Jen’s instructions are clear, concise and easy to understand. She demonstrates attention to detail and its importance to any project. What used to be intimidating to me when finishing projects is now a joyful process! This book is an all-in-one home run! It will guide any level quilter to turning the ordinary into extraordinary. It’s amazing what a difference embroidery and wool appliqué can make to a project. And it’s amazing the way Jen takes the mystery out of it! There are twenty quilt projects that you can combine with your own touches and imagination and turn it into 200 projects. She shows you the sky is the limit utilizing the seasons as the backdrop. The beautiful photos alone will peak your senses. I can only sum up this review by saying “what funâ€; and yes, I highly recommend this book to any quilter. It would make a great gift too! You will not be disappointed.
Detailed instructions make the patterns easy to follow. So many wonderful projects, not sure which to make first!
I want to come home to a place that is filled with the delightful, home-warming projects in this book so that I can “savor†each new season as it comes along, as Jen Daly suggests. What I love about this book is how the projects evoke the emotion of each of the seasons, and I can literally feel my mood change as I flip through the projects - I can practically taste Thanksgiving dinner when I look at her Pumpkin Spice Table Runner, and her Flurries Quilt has me wanting to snuggle in, warm and cozy, while it’s cold outside. Jen has captured the essence of each season beautifully in these projects. I also appreciate the variety offered, whether I want to make a small or large project or whether I’m in the mood for traditional or more whimsical, it’s all right here in this one wonderful book. As always, Jen’s designs and her use of color, fabric choices and sweet embellishments speak to me, and the overarching emotion I feel when I look through her work - and realize that I can recreate her projects for my own home, thanks to this book - is JOY.

I think needle-felting in general is a neat craft, and the work here is very sophisticated, with the characters having the appropriate facial expressions in each illustration. (I mean, look at Emma's wink on the cover!) I think adult fans of Austen / Emma will love this -- I do -- but I'm not sure how it really works as a children's book. It has 1 word per page over 10 pages (man, goodbye, hello, why,....) with a scene on the opposite facing page depicting a scene from the story.I do think it might be fun for a parent to read the book as is to a child when they're young, and then elaborate on the story on subsequent readings as the child gets older.
As a lover of both the classics and fiber arts I can say these books by Jack Wang are pure genius. I had to order three (Emma, Jane Eyre, Pride & Prejudice) just to quench my curiosity: 12 words? 12 pictures? How can something so simple represent the profoundness of each novel? My three year old daughter loves them and has memorized Emma. Each picture and word remind me of the story. It works on both levels. The felted figures fill each page with personality and emotion. Well done.
I love how Cozy Classics take out the basic important words of a classic story and turn them into a picture book. The artwork is amazing. I love to look around and notice all the details. I use these books with both my preschooler and my high school students, and they all enjoy them. And as a Jane Austen fan, I have bought all of the Austen books for my personal collection. I hope the creators eventually cover all of Austen's books!
All of the books in this series are genius. Fun for adults and great for kids. My daughter has loved the series since she was about 16 months old, on up.
I bought this and 4 others for my daughter. She is 28 years old and getting her Masters degree as a reading specialist. She will be able to use these classic treasures in her job helping struggling readers learn and acquire a love for the classics!
What a beautiful book and what a creative way to introduce little ones to the classics. My one year old and my 10 year old thought these books were fun. I own several, but I felt Emma had the best pictures, especially the one on the cover.

Personally, I think that this little book captures the storyline of Emma astonishingly well. The artistry of the figures and pictures is delightful, and the concept is entertaining. I nominally bought it for my baby, but actually, it's for me.
