This is an exquisitely done catalog for the exhibit at the NY Wallach Art Center. The research and analysis open multi-streams of thought into western art traditions. The production is wonderful, fully capturing the colors and depth of the presented images. Bravo!
The book is the museum book for the exhibit of the same name. Wonderful exhibition at a splendid museum in a great,rebuild neighborhood between Broadway and Westhighway at 129th street, NYC.The book represents the PhD thesis of the author and curator. The exhibit is currently on its way to Musee D’Orsay and will open in the end of March 2019. The French will supplement the exhibit with additional artists, mostly romantic painters. This does not change the fact that this book and the exhibit is uniquely the concept of the author of this book.
