I had to purchase this book for a class I took recently, and I think it did a fairly good job of summarizing the basics of marine biology. It includes colorful illustrations and examples of contemporary data from published papers (which I think more textbooks should include). Obviously, now for class you'd probably be required to buy the newer edition of the book, but if you're just interested in the subject, this is a good read.
I had to get this book for my Marine Biology class. The book was easy to understand and written in a language that was easy to follow. It had many examples to make the subject matter clearer.I used the amazon rental service for this book and am really satisfied at how smoothly it worked. The book shipped very fast. The return process was very easy as well. I printed out a label and dropped the book of at the closest post office. I would definitely rent books from amazon again.

If you are a fan of The Legend of Korra, this collection of posters is a must for anyone who is a fan of our girl from the Southern Water tribe, you won't be disappointed.The book is well printed on thick stock paper, and the artwork is printed individually/one side only, so you will not have to choose which side of the art to display, and features concept art from all four books as well as ancillary media used to promote the show.For example, if you were unable to attend any of the large comic conventions such as the New York ComicCon, or the queen mother, San Diego ComiCon, there are a few reproductions of posters from those venues- NYCC, featured on the cover of the poster book itself, as well as the poster from book three featuring the Red Lotus characters, the Avatar, and two of the new airbenders from Earth Kingdom, and there is even a print of the first poster Nickelodeon issued in 2012 before the show even aired featuring Korra looking over her adopted home, Republic City.There are a few prints in the book that aren't so spectacular, but that is just my taste, as I wanted to see more characters in print, rather than a large background painting of the banyan grove tree standing proudly of the swamp, or wide shots of Zaofu. I wish that the book included the poster "New Friends" that featured the new Team Avatar, or Hiroshi Sato's photo of he posed with his wife Yasuko, and daughter Asami when they were a whole family untouched by a horrid act of violence.Hopefully, the lack of this artwork only means that we will be treated to the opportunity to purchase a second, or perhaps even third collection of Legend Of Korra art, but for now the lack of those images are made up for by the presence of two extremely rare, and special works, Korra's spirit parade, which was a limited edition print limited to only a few hundred copies, and the rendering of the post series image painted by Brian Konietzko, which the fandom has dubbed "Turtleduck Date Night" featuring the endgame romantic pairing, which was also a limited edition offering.I can't say that I absolutely love each inclusion in the book, Meelo's self-portrait for example, but the book isn't meant to cater to everyone's tastes, but to serve as a sampler for everyone to have an opportunity to enjoy a quality image of material that they may not be able to find because it wasn't issued for widespread ownership, or acquire the originals of, because of the ballooning collector's market for this show's memorabilia.In short, this is a high quality collection of artwork from this show that everyone who is a fan, will be able to draw some enjoyment from in one form or another.I bought two of them, and I believe I might have to purchase another, y'know, just to be safe.
Absolutely stunning. The artwork is amazing, and I love that it has Meelo's self portrait from season 4. 😆 And the Date Night picture! I'm seriously going to rip half of these out to be framed. Korra art on every wall!

This book is beautiful. There is a good variety of character and environment pieces. My only complaint is that more properties don't do this! Normally if you want good art pieces like this you're going to pay the price of this book for just one poster.As a final note there is a white border around each poster so these do look better framed.

Wow!! What an incredible story!!! The deep faith in God shared by these five men and their families shines forth through the pages of this book. The story is written in a straight forward manner which engages the reader. Although the book is written by one of the widows, I appreciate the fact that she gave equal time and attention to each man and their families throughout the book. Personally, this story touched my heart probably more than any other missionary book I've ever read. The faith of these five men is just astounding!! Their willingness to sacrifice everything, including their own lives, to serve God is inspiring and brought me to tears. This book will make you examine your heart and Christian walk. I highly recommend this book to everyone and especially those on the mission field!!!

I had heard about these missionaries so I wanted to read the book.It showed their dedication to their "calling" as missionaries. It is well written. Very relational since Elizabeth is still living and has a shortprogram on the radio. I listen to it often. Sal shows us how to validate a product first so that it has a higher chance of succeeding on Kickstarter. He also placed emphasis on having a good Kickstarter video and he showed us how to make an epic Kickstarter video. He also placed emphasis on social proof which helped boost my funding to over 300%. He also tells us how to handle a Kickstarter project after it finishes which I found helpful. Overall great read and it definitely helped me raise more on my Kickstarter project.
My favorite book on crowdfunding!I'm just preparing myself for my upcoming launch, and I feel I saved 10.000 USD. (at least) I just made a ton of notes. I have a very small budget as a solopreneur and for me, it was very important to find a cheap way to understand how crowdfunding works and how can I create a successful project. Got it for a car trip and it kept the kids occupied. They enjoyed the variety of it. Honestly I have no knowledge of this subject so I can’t speak to accuracy but I know my kids found it fun.
My son loves this book. It's full of codes to practice decoding, and this is his favorite book right now. The encoded messages have some relatively complex vocabulary, so kids under about age 12 will need some help to figure out some of the words.
I bought this book to use in my classroom. We watched the movie Imitation Game and then the students wrote codes of their own codes. They really enjoyed this lesson and truly understood how hard it is to break a coe with the limited resoures the people had at the time.
I bought this for a young teen who loves math. The purpose was to engage a teen into something other than a video game and to introduce him to a field that could be good to know. However, it was such an interesting book that I bought one for myself! I do love cryptography after all. The book is easy, with lots of quizzes and written problems, but it isn't childish. It's fun!
This is the perfect beginner's book for children interested in codes and cryptography. Great description of the various types with puzzles to solve.
My 9 year old granddaughter loves it. She enjoys the puzzle part and the "secret language."
Did not like the book. It is too advanced for me.
