I totally enjoyed the information in the "Black Book" series of books Coriolis. I have over 20 of them. The information is easily read and technically sound. I find it easy to flow through the book and find just what you need at the time that you need it. They are indeed a favorite in my collection of technical manuals. As an MCSA, I have the opportunity to use them on a daily basis. The information doesn't let you down. A very well made and quality product. Well worth the price.
This was the first book that I read concerning the Windows 98 Registry and could have stopped after finishing this book. The other books lacked the concise detail provided by this book.This book provides what every computer reference book should but doesn't. Readable informative prose combined with detailed instructions clearly outlining how to accomplish any type of editing possible.I am the caretaker for a computer lab at work and used this book on a daily basis at work and home. I finally purchased a second copy to cut down on wear and tear of the original. The book is a valuable tool and anyone working with Windows 98 on a daily basis should include this book in their library.

This style will annoy the advanced administrator right off - a feeling quickly shared by the novice who spends even a small amount of time in the book.However, once you get past the formatting, you will find a great amount of information from Administrative tools and General Networking, to IIS, Transaction Server and Microsoft Office. Some of the data is a little out-dated; an entire chapter is dedicated to Internet Explorer 4..... They provide a well organized Table of Contents, an extensive Index and external visible page formatting for quick scanning and searching of sections.Overall, a handy registry info guide.
Well, if you trust the opinion of one guy that issued a mere one star for the material, then you certainly aren't ready for the information in this book! However, if you're a genuine system administrator that needs to have easy access to detailed registry information without having to crawl the web, then this book is very well worth having. The whole point of the book is to delve deeper than GUI utilities like TweakUI and actually get to the meat of HOW things are done. Whether making registry changes from remote, via scripts, or locally, knowing where the right information is located is much more educational than shined up utilities.While the book does go to some extremes in repeating some non-essential information, the overall value of the book is not badly diminished. I've been dealing with the Windows registry for years now, and I can't say that I have it all memorized. Grabbing a quick reference like this Little Black Book is a time saver... period.
First off, the book starts with "This book is not for amateurs." I fully agree, as modifying the Windows registry can have a huge effect (good or bad) on your server. However, I would venture a guess that most users already know how to launch Regedt32. And for those that don't, you would only need to explain it once or twice in the entire text. From then on, "Launch Regedt32" would suffice in the text... But in this case, almost EVERY page in the text has detailed explanations on HOW to launch Regedt32, such that it accounts for about 25% of every page! Overall, that's about 25% of about 440 pages filled with redundant information! Second, I would estimate that 30-50% of the registry tweaks described can be accomplished without modifying the registry directly. Any NT or Windows 2000 administrator worth his / her salt will probably know this, and would prefer to accomplish the "tweak" without modifying the registry directly. So overall, 55-75% (25% + 30-50%) of the text is not going to be useful to the typical reader! Disappointing. There are several aspects of the text that I do like... If you have a specific problem (like how to implement automatic logons without user input), the book has a very simple step-by-step approach to solving these effectively. It also explains the registry layout a bit, and what some of the subkeys are used for.
I feel I have to add my voice to this book, to reduce the average rating for this book, because it does not deserve 4 stars. The fact that every single entry for a registry change has a 6 line entry that is IDENTICAL for each entry and the rest of the explanation is only useful if you are the village simpleton, takes away all merits this book may have in its coverage of the subject. There is no reason for the obvious contempt that both the Author and the publisher obviously hold any possible reader in. If there was a way to return this book to the shop as unfit for the purpose it was sold, I would return it. This book does not deserve to sell anymore copies.

This A to Z Classics ebook edition of VIRGINIA WOOLF: THE COMPLETE WORKS, published Sept. 17, 2018, is "more complete" than the previous so-called "complete" edition of March 27, 2018 from this same publisher and (at the time I am writing this) still being sold; it is also has more works than the "complete" set from De Marque published Feb. 1, 2018 (which seems virtually identical to that earlier A to Z set).Of course, a collection is really either complete or incomplete, but in the wacky world of ebooks, "complete" seldom means to bundlers what it means to the rest of us: that it's ALL there and NOTHING is missing. In an earlier review, I was misled into thinking the previous edition was truly complete when, apparently it wasn't, because this Sept. 17, 2018 edition lists ADDITIONAL TITLES of her works not hitherto included. So is this one TRULY complete? Having been burned once I wouldn't dare say now that it finally is, but I will say it DOES provide a whole lot of Virginia Woolf -- and that is a very good thing.Many of Woolf's works are written in more-or-less straightforward prose, but her best and most notable works (like MRS. DALLOWAY and TO THE LIGHTHOUSE) are written in a dreamy, stream-of-consciousness style depicting slices-of-life in which plot is secondary to sensory impressions and description; subjective feelings and emotions overide objective reporting, and time is measured as it is felt and experienced rather than as it is measured by a clock. This method of storytelling may take some getting used to; readers who can recognize and appreciate what Woolf is trying to do will take delight at her ability to capture the very essence of daily life, seemingly mundane at one level but in some ways monumental at another. Sadly, not everyone will be able to do so; ironically, they will likely be critical of such works for the very same reasons that others consider them great.If you've never read Virginia Woolf before, this is a fabulous introduction to her. If you were "forced" to read her in college a goodly number of years ago and didn't like her THEN, this is a golden opportunity to re-consider her NOW in light of your subsequent life- and reading-experiences. Those who are already fans will certainly enjoy re-reading their favorite VW pieces, but in the process, they may even discover a few "new" items.This set has an active TOC and is handsomely formatted. I highly recommend it, and I most certainly recommend Virginia Woolf. (I only wish I could rate this higher than 5-stars.)

This book was just what I needed for supplementary reading for my adult literacy student--middle grade reading level and adult interest level. The author presents an engaging story of Henry Ford's life and his place in American history. The book is illustrated by excellent line drawings on almost every page. The prose is straight forward with plenty of new words to expand the student's working vocabulary and to inspire discussion. I plan to use other books from the "Who Was..." series with adult English learners eager to learn about the history of their new country.

We love these books for the easy and abundant research our kids can understand and write their book reports on. It covers a lot about Ford's career from start to finish, ups and downs, and all.
We bought this for our eleven year old before we visit the Henry Ford Museum in Michigan. It was a very quick, enjoyable read for him (finished the book in an hour). Our son says he would recommend this to anyone wanting a brief overview of who Henry Ford was.
It has a lot of information and it really helped me with my report. It gets a bit confusing but overall very easy to read.
My son doesn't generally enjoy reading so when I picked up s few of these books to give it a try, he loved them. I now own over 30 of them, and each one had been fun to read. My son started testing them in 5 grade. I highly encourage people to purchase these books.

Good, but a fair amount of redundancy with the Ugly's general electrical book.Update: 2-18-2018After using this book for a while, after my original review, I have found that even though there is some redundancy with the general electrical book, it has some very important tables when it comes to sizing your branch circuit conductors and branch circuit protection in regard to motors. These tables are typically part of the NEC electrical code book which comes with a hefty price. For this reason alone, I have increased my rating from 4 to 5 stars. One table in particular has done all the calculations for you and lists the proper breaker, fuse and conductor sizes based on horsepower. Well worth it.
