Amazon has done us a huge disservice by lumping all the reviews for the various "original" versions of this book together. The version I purchased (black cover with money on the bottom, kindle version) is riddled with errors where the publisher evidently SCANNED the book in and then didn't bother to edit the results. Page numbers appear randomly in the middle of paragraphs, "m" appears where clearly "in" was intended and in some cases paragraphs just end in the middle of a sentence. This is a great book but some of the publishers have done a terrible job reproducing it and Amazon isn't helping by grouping very different copies together in the same review group.I hope to update this review when I find a less crappy copy of this book, but avoid the version with the black cover with money on the bottom. (See pictures)
First, i was thinking that this book will only help me in the performance part of my life, by giving tips, habits and principles of the most succesfull people on the planet. But my image of the book changed when i read all of it. It helps also on how to become an incredible person, how to treat people and how to see all that happens to you in a different way.Second, it talks about BELIEVING, it says that in order to reach whatever you seek you first have to believe and have faith in your abilities, in the plan that God has for you and to BELIEVE IN YOU!! Also it teaches you that you need to have faith, persistance and very BIG BIG dreams. For all of you that are reading this review i want to tell you THAT YOU CAN DO IT!! YOU WERE BORN TO BE GREAT!! But people dont believe it because of what other people says about them but ignore the negative people and STAY LOCKED WITH YOUR DREAM, DONT LET ANYONE TELL YOU WHAT TO DO OR HOW TO THINK. IGNORE THEM AND STAY FOCUS ON YOUR PURPOSE. I WANT TO TELL YOU THAT I BELIEVE IN YOU AND I LOVE YOU. YOU CAN MAKE IT!!!!!!!!!!
I have read over 50 self-help books in my life so far. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill is in my TOP 5! In fact, I personally know two millionaires (one being a family member) and both HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book! The family member originally moved to the United States in his early 30's and hardly spoke a word of English. Actually started off delivering pizzas. One day he was gifted the book Think and Grow Rich by a very wealthy customer. He devoured this book and read it over 20 times! A decade later he became a millionaire (Net Worth: ~10 Million USD). True story. In fact, if you do your research you will learn that Think and Grow Rich has produced the most millionaires out of any self-help product.FRAUD ALERT ABOUT CLAIMED "UNABRIDGED" VERSIONS:Yes, this is an amazing book! However, there are so many versions of this book. Amazon clumps all of the reviews of the various editions in to one group which adds to the confusion. The BEST version is the 1937 ORIGINAL. Many publishers of this book claim that there version is the 1937 ORIGINAL UNABRIDGED. Then you read the introduction and find out that the publisher revised it, abridged or "modernized" it. Thus making the original claim FALSE/LIE! Most interestingly, these revised/updated versions remove essential key words such as the word VIBRATIONS. The removal/substitution of this word completely changes the context of the sentence. I am a fairly spiritual person and reading the original unmodified 1937 version was MUCH MORE PROFOUND to me. In fact, so much of an affect that in 6 months of reading the original my salary increased by 50% WHILE working from home 98%. Naturally, I gave away all of the other versions I hadI spent over 10 HOURS reading through many comments on Amazon and Google. My goal was to find truly REAL 1937 ORIGINAL UNABRIDGED versions. Here are the BEST FORMATS of the ACTUAL REAL 1937 ORIGINAL UNABRIDGED VERSIONS of Think and Grow Rich:Kindle Version: Think and Grow Rich: The Original 1937 Unedited Edition - Created by the OFFICIAL Napoleon Hill Foundation. Unfortunately, their physical book format is terrible. I think they simply photocopied the original and then tried to fit it on each page. The results, the font is too small and there is a TON of wasted white space for the margins. It is simply awful to read even though the their intentions were good. The most readable physical book version I have found is by Melvin Powers linked below.Physical Book Version: Think and Grow Rich - Facsimile Edition that is by forward Melvin Powers.Enjoy!P.S. I would be grateful if someone could point me to a good quality audiobook that is 100% for certain is a narration of the ACTUALLY REAL 1937 ORIGINAL UNABRIDGED VERSION.

It is a state of mind that is essential to success and can be overcome through effort.5) One of the common attributes of highly successful people is the ability to reach decisions quickly and to change them slowly. Most of us are the opposite.

I'll start out by stating the one and only flaw with this book. That is if you haven't read the other dark tower novels, or at least the first four, you may not fully understand this book or it's writing style so I encourage you to read the other books first before reading this.As for this book, it starts off after the end of Wizard and glass, with Roland giving a story from his past when he was a young gunslinger in a nearby town from Gilead to deal with a "Skin-Man" creature terrorizing and slaughtering the community. But halfway into that story he begins telling another story, more of a fairy tale, about a young boy on a quest to save his mother from his abusive step father.I don't really want to go further into it, but the gist is basically a story within a story, so it may throw some off a bit but trust me, the wind through the keyhole is very engaging, never boring, and in my opinion one of the best editions of the series. I've read the other dark tower novels and are my favorite of King's works. This was a great read and made it blast to be able to relive Roland and all the other characters in the series.Highly recommended for Dark Tower fans and newcomers alike.
If you're a fan of the Dark Tower series by Stephen King then this is simply one more book that rounds out that story. If you miss Roland, Eddie, Susannah, Jake and yes of course Oiy (apologies in advance for any misspellings of names here, forgive me Mr. King) the way I do then this book will be a total delight, a homecoming for sorts to slip back into Mid-World and spend time with friends old and new as they continue their journey to the Dark Tower.And no, the story isn't spoiled a bit by knowing what fate still awaits our beloved Ka-Tet. This is actually more of the story of what happened to a younger Roland following the events he tells of in Wizard and Glass, treating us to a double world of present and past in much the same way that book did.For me this book joins the collection of King's greatest story ever told. And yes, I really do mean that.
When I was done with the Dark Tower series, which was an enjoyable but lengthy commitment, I felt a small pang of loss. That was it, there was no more. Sad to say goodbye to Roland and his ka-tet. I wanted more. Then Steve-O granted me just another morsel from Mid World in "The Wind Through the Keyhole". Nice. And the telling of the tale is interesting too, in that King wraps this gift in multiple layers. If you have enjoyed following the Gunslinger on his quest, you will want to add this to the series. It seems to fit between Wizard and Glass and The Wolves of the Calla. Enjoy!
This is overall an excellent book. The book is 8th in the Dark Tower series, but more appropriately can be considered book 4.5. The novel features a story, in a story, an interesting & unusual way to do a novel. The novel starts off with the band of 5 from book 4, on their trip to find the Dark Tower. A deadly storm (a "starkblast") comes up, and they are trapped in a shelter for 3 days. During this time, Roland tells them a story from his youth, to entertain them. The story concerns one of his first assignments as a gunslinger, sent by train to a distant land to find the source of reports of a murderous shapeshifter (reports which his father doesn't believe are true.) The reports are true, and his first night there, another multiple homicide occurs. A young boy is the only surviving witness, but even through Roland's hypnotism, he recalls little. Roland locks the boy and himself in the town jail as protection, fearing that the shapeshifter may target the boy, since he's a witness. To entertain and comfort the boy, Roland tells him a story that his mother often told him, about a brave boy who survives a "starkblast". So the first 3rd of the book concerns Roland's history, the second 3rd, the story he tells the boy, then the third 3rd, wraps up the story from history. Both stories are very well-written and entertaining. The story is suspenseful, but perhaps not quite as suspenseful as some of King's others stories (after all, we all know that Roland will survive the shapeshifter.) As a bonus, we learn a bit more about Roland's mother, and a last letter she wrote to Roland. The story Roland tells the boy involves a character who is an evil tax-collector from the land of Gilead, I highly doubt that Roland's mother, raising Roland in Gilead the supposed bastion of good on the earth, would have ever told a tale featuring such a character. That was the one part that seemed out of place in the novel, since the story could have been told without reference to an evil representative from Gilead. The rest of the story Roland the boy told was quite developed, especially in its discussion of marvels from the "old people." Concerning Roland's story of his youth, I have a feeling that its not quite 100% consistent with the rest of the books (like the Manni people in book 5, weren't they new to Susannah/Jake/Eddie, yet they should have known them from this story. Still, any inconsistencies are small, and quite forgivable considering this excellent novel.

I purchased the book for the first time many years ago and coached youth lacrosse at many levels up through High School. Keeping the drills fresh for the kids was the best recommendation I recidivist and know have purchased this book for my son who was going to be coaching for the first time. Book contains so many drills that practice never got old.Great book!
I am realtively new to the sport of lacrosse. My son is getting involved and I had volunteered to coach his team of beginners (first and second graders). This book was a great resource to the general rules of the game and techniques. I found the illustrations helpful and the practice games great.

Excellent book
This book is great for the beginner coach. It offers simple and effective advice on getting the kids started in beginners' level Lacrosse.
When my son was in 2nd grade, I was pressed into duty as a lacrosse coach. Growing up in Texas, I never played the sport and being in Texas, coaches with experience playing lacrosse are in short supply. I bought this book and a couple of others. Over the years, I have bought every lacrosse book I could get my hands on. I own several DVD's and went and became certified as a coach through US Lacrosse. Quite frankly, this is the best lacrosse book for the money.This book is about the fundamentals and the basics of coaching the fundamentals. This is an A-Z of coaching. How to teach the basics, how to run a practice, how to deal with parents, how to prepare for and conduct yourself at a game.Is it for the advanced coach or coaching the advanced player? No, but the title should have told you that. That being said, I think long-time coaches coaching youth players should read this book to remind themselves of how to deal with little kids and their parents.I still refer to this book now and again to look at the drills or the way some techniques are explained.

Lacey Anne Byer is the daughter of Pastor Ted and Theresa Byer. She loves the small town she lives in, a tight knit community where everybody sees her as the `good girl' who would never break the rules. She has had two close friends since pre-school, Starla Joy and Dean and they all worship at the House of Enlightenment. Lacey was raised by Christian parents who taught her to study the Word and look to the Word in times of trouble. She also wears the purity ring her father got for her when she turned fifteen. When a new guy comes to town, Lacey begins to question what she always believed to be Truth.Lacey has been a Christian for years. She grew up with a dad who is a Pastor. She was an okay character, but it was surprising to me how certain incidents bothered her to the point where she began to question her faith. And a couple situations were really none of her business, so, at those times, I found her a bit judgmental. It seems she didn't question her faith at all until Ty came along. This young man had a problem with Lacey quoting Scripture, he planted seeds of doubt in her mind about what she believed and he confused her about things that never even crossed her mind before she spoke with him. And he was the reason she began to make certain bad choices she never thought to make before. Spiritually speaking, Ty had no clue he was allowing Satan to use him... For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of the darkness who rule this world and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms. - Ephesians 6:12 (New Living Translation) Again, Ty had no clue he was allowing Satan to use him.Are teens being frightened into surrendering their lives to the Lord? That was the question I asked myself as soon as I saw the words `Hell House', so I had to buy the book to find out. As characters described scenes for Hell House, an outreach that would bring people to God, my question was answered. The issues being addressed were Abortion, Drunk Driving, Gay Marriage, Domestic Abuse, Cyber-porn and Suicide, and there was excitement expressed by these Christian people as they planned the tragic scenes. I'm not sure if that was because they were happy about the people who would get saved, or if they were desensitized by it all... I was at least glad to see that Lacey's mom got the seriousness of the Abortion Girl scene from the beginning. Lacey had to witness the consequences of a choice made by a friend, before she realized playing Abortion Girl wasn't something to be excited about. According to Pastor Byer, "You gotta shake `em to wake `em." But getting saved is about believing in Jesus Christ and what he did for us at Calvary. For God so LOVED the world that He gave His only begotten Son... scare tactics are not the way to lead the lost to Christ. Most of them probably backslide soon after they shake off the fear of Hell House, because their hearts weren't in it in the first place.Thoughts that came to mind as I read this book:1. Some people will live a certain way not because they believe it's who they are, but because someone else convinced them it's who they are.2. As Christians, it's okay to have questions when it comes to the Bible. That's one way to learn. But it's not good to look so deep in between the lines that we stop believing because we don't understand or can't explain certain Scripture in a way that will satisfy someone who is challenging it.3. Certain Christian characters suggested that a person would go to hell because of a sin committed. It does not work that way. And it's not about `feeling heaven bound'. Those who are going to heaven when they leave this world have received Jesus as Lord and Savior and those who aren't didn't. It is not about `feelings' and it is not about `works'.4. Some people convince themselves a choice they've made is in `God's plan' when God didn't have a thing to do with it.This is the first time I've read Melissa Walker's work. I gave `Small Town Sinners' three stars because it was interesting, realistic, and well-written. I gave it another star because of Walker's bravery. She touched on delicate controversial topics that have caused many heated discussions. Any book club might have to meet late into the night or may even have to schedule another day before every thought and opinion from its members can be expressed. Or they may have to agree to disagree about certain topics and move on to the next book.
wonderful book, to be young and finding some questions don't have black or white answers. Everyone goes on this journey and this one is wonderful. strong characters and storyline, a must read for young and old alike.
Cute story in general but after reading it I felt off I've been a Christian my whole life and have fought the stereotype of a judgemental person, and I felt like this book made Christians look like hypocrites and I'm not even talking about the Hell house...

Small town life , evangelical world, new to me, interesting, gave me some thing to think about. Teen age girl starts to see the real world isn't so black and white.
As someone who has had a similar experience, this has become one of my favorite books. It is written well and has a well thought out story line. <3
The author touches on conservative Christian values, teen pregnancy, abortion, homosexuality and the usual teen angst issues. Too many issues to really do justice to any.
I don't know why my kindle recommended this to me. It doesn't match my interests at all, and it was really bad.

This book is adorable. My granddaughters and I had watched some YouTube videos of baby elephants so I knew they would enjoy this book. We have read it many times. They love retelling Ella’s story.
My daughter really loved this book. She especially enjoyed lifting the flaps to see what was hiding underneath. Excellent book for any child, but especially for children who have trouble staying engaged.
